Game One - Part 2

Having designed my level it was time to model it to see what it would look like.

I modled some trees and hills, i liked the the way it looked so i put the ground map in Unity and used the Terrain editor to build my level. The original plan was to model the whole map in 3ds but i found the terrain editor works better and is more efficient for me.

This is the begining of the map terrain, with the hills and the outskirts of the level raised i used the paint texture (Grass) to texture the map. As i mentioned earlier i put a fixed camera in a top down view for the game level.

The map was textured now i had to add trees and the players start position. These are the trees i modled in 3ds max for my level;

I coloured the tree trunks in with a nice brown and the tops with a slightly darker green to seperate from the grass texture. And this is how my map ended up after adding the trees;

The pickups are about to get added just deciding on how to space them out. Then we can play with the player movement and the Gui of the game.
